Do your brows connect and appear to be one long brow?
This phenomenon is called unibrow or monobrow.
Science says unibrow is a consequence of genetics passed on within the family. Instead of having two separate brows, each one connects looking as if it is one long eyebrow.
Although there is the Unibrow Movement that encourages individuals with this condition to be proud of what they have, however, some are not fond of having caterpillar-like look above the eyes. It can be distracting to some people, especially if they are not used seeing a person sporting a unibrow.
So, what is your decision?
Would you let it grow or get rid of the unibrows?
There is a rule you have to follow if your decision is to remove your connecting brows. Below are tips on how to get rid of it when you’re tired of your unibrow.
#1 Trim the Brows
The easiest and fastest method of managing your brows is by trimming. You can buy a slim sized electric trimmer to do the job. Make sure the trimmer is small enough to get rid of the hair between your eyes. Also, it is best to select a trimmer which you feel comfortable holding so you can control the device efficiently.
Likewise, search for a trimmer with an adjustable feature. This aspect allows you to adjust the trim length and avoid removing too much hair.
#2 Plucking the Brows
If you are not comfortable with trimming, you may pluck the extra hair and shape them. Plucking works well if you are searching for budget-friendly ways of removing unibrows. Moreover, it is precise and effective compared to other processes.
When plucking your unibrow, work your way through one hair at a time. Gently stretch your skin and grip the hair near the root. Pull each hair out swiftly. It is best to pull the hair in the same direction it is growing to prevent breaking or discomfort. Once finished, apply a soothing lotion to lessen the redness.
#3 Waxing the Brows
Plucking is a tedious process since you have to remove the extra hair one at a time. If you prefer a quicker solution, then do waxing.
Waxing allows you to remove several hairs at once. All you have to do is place the wax strip on top of the unwanted hair and rip it off quickly. You can choose between a hot wax and room temperature wax for this job. However, make sure to put the wax strip on the correct area, or else you’ll be removing a mass of hair. Instead of having a one long brow, what you’ll have is no brow at all.
There are some restrictions on waxing. Individuals who are taking acne medication like Accutane are prohibited to take this process. Likewise, if you have irritated or sensitive skin, moles and sunburn on the connecting brows never do wax. You can use plucking if you have one of the said conditions above.
