[...] Twitter is the new community participation, but if people are as good at reading tweets as I am, I’m probably hurting myself a bit by participating a lot there. Chris made a point of this in a talk he did at Podcasters Across Borders, saying he was winning because he blogged so much, even though so many people had quit for Twitter. Not only that, but people don’t link to tweets, so by tweeting, you shortchange your ideas of link equity, too (and even if people did link, you wouldn’t own the links). [...]
I love hearing Chris on superfast! Jolt could be renamed boostershot–feel like I got B12, a smidge of caffeine and a great kick in the a#%. Yahoo. Favorite: I would do it for free, but I make you pay because. . .quote. I posted it above my workstation–this is so important for us to break out of this bad free-based (yes) behavior.
CONTEXT of money: yes, what are you charging for, why and when. Get clear, brave and consistent (and talk about money before someone makes you talk about it–put it up front if you are really uncomfortable about it).
Chris Brogan cranky–very helpful. I’ll take his advice and stop talking now.
Just what I needed today!
True and said in a “who cares who’s listening” way, which is much more honest.
Thanks for all on this one,
Craig

Because your children need food and as much hugs as I get in the world, I can’t eat a fucking hug. [...]
